Exploring Japan-Europe Collaboration with a Hungarian IT Company

I had an engaging discussion with Daniel, CEO of the Hungarian IT company Scriptide (https://scriptide.tech/). Hungarian IT firms have traditionally not considered Japan as a primary market, but after working with a Japanese company, Daniel recognized the cultural compatibility and saw Japan as an opportunity to enhance his company’s value.

This perspective reminded me of my past collaboration with Mr. Jure, CEO of XLAB (https://xlab.si/) in Slovenia. Instead of expanding to the U.S., he deliberately chose Japan, believing that success in Japan—a market with exceptionally high-quality standards—would make his products more competitive globally.

A similar approach was taken by UIPath, a Romanian leader in RPA, which expanded to Japan before entering the U.S. These cases highlight the untapped potential of Central and Eastern European companies—hidden "diamonds in the rough"—that are well-suited for the Japanese market.

These experiences demonstrate the promising opportunities for collaboration between Japan and Europe, and I look forward to exploring what the future holds.
