A Meaningful Visit to Hungary and an Inspiring Conversation with Fukuda-san

My first visit to Hungary, though just a day and a half, was an incredibly fulfilling experience. Walking through the streets, I was able to immerse myself in the local atmosphere and gain a deeper understanding of the country’s current state, making the visit all the more meaningful.

During my time there, I had the privilege of meeting Fukuda-san, Co-CEO of Sudy & Co. (https://sudy.co.hu/ja/), who has lived in Hungary for many years. Our conversation covered a wide range of topics, from business to personal reflections, and despite the limited time, it was an incredibly engaging exchange. Having both experienced serious illnesses, we shared a deep appreciation for the importance of health and the joy found in everyday life.

We also delved into Japan’s pressing challenges, such as the declining birth rate, aging population, and economic slowdown, exploring how deeper collaboration between Japan and Europe could drive mutual growth. Fukuda-san, with his profound understanding of both Japanese and international cultures, is deeply committed to helping Japanese companies maximize their strengths and continue shining on the global stage. His personal journey of overcoming illness has given him a unique perspective on life’s brevity and true happiness, which I greatly respect.

I also shared my own experience of recovering from a stroke and my past connection with Takayama-san of OceanBridge. Through these shared experiences, we reaffirmed the importance of personal fulfillment and the value of passing this mindset on to others. It was a conversation filled with empathy, deep insights, and a renewed sense of purpose—one that continues to inspire me moving forward.
